This medication is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or more commonly known as an enlarged prostate.
Avodart works by reducing its size to relieve symptoms such as the need for frequent/urgent urination especially in the middle of the night, weak stream, and difficulty in beginning the urine flow.
When taking this medication, it may improve urinary flow and may make surgery to treat BPH unnecessary later on.
